PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aromatic polysulfone in which a molecular weight is easily controlled and a content of an insoluble substance is small.SOLUTION: A method for producing an aromatic polysulfone comprises: compounding an aromatic dihalogenosulfone compound, an aromatic dihydroxy compound, a base powder and an organic polar solvent; and carrying out a polycondensation reaction of the aromatic dihydrogenosulfone compound and the aromatic dihydroxy compound. The base powder has a specific surface area of 1.0 (m/g) or less. |
