PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of reliably detecting replacement of a printing fluid cartridge while an adapter remains in a cartridge mounting portion.SOLUTION: An ink cartridge 30 includes an ink supply portion 34 flowing ink from an ink chamber 36, and a remaining amount detection portion 33 changing its state according to the remaining amount of the ink in the ink chamber 36. An adapter 90 is arranged on the outside of the ink cartridge 30. The adapter 90 exposes the ink supply portion 34 and the remaining amount detection portion 33, respectively to the outside. The adapter 90 has light attenuating portions 43 and 65 changing its attitude according to the positional relationship with the ink cartridge 30. |
