PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a band-like area having different brightness compared to other parts, in an image display device of a passive system using a pattern phase difference film.SOLUTION: On a substrate 2 formed of a transparent film member, an orientation layer 3 and a phase difference layer 4 are successively provided. In the phase difference layer 4, a band-like area A for a right eye for applying phase difference corresponding to emission light from a pixel of an image display panel driven by image data for a right eye, and a band-like area B for a left eye for applying phase difference corresponding to emission light from a pixel of an image display panel driven by image data for a left eye are successively provided alternately. In the orientation layer 3, between the area A for a right eye and the area B for a left eye, a difference t of 20 μm or more and 100 μm or less is provided.
