PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for an idle reduction vehicle, configured to increase idle reduction time which is limited by the start of generating odor from an evaporator.SOLUTION: An air conditioner to be used for an idle reduction vehicle includes: a refrigerant compressor 11; an evaporator 15 having a cool storage means; an HVAC unit 20 which accommodates the evaporator and operates in either one of two air intake modes, an internal air mode where internal air is used as intake air which is supplied to the evaporator and exchanges heat with the refrigerant, and an external air mode where external air is used; and electronic control devices 50 and 150. The electronic control devices select the air intake mode of the HVAC unit when the refrigerant compressor is stopped due to idle reduction of the vehicle during operation of the air conditioner so as to affect advantageously to delay the start of generating odor which is generated when condensed water adhered to the surface of the evaporator is evaporated. |
