PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable instrument for measuring dimensions.SOLUTION: A portable instrument 30 comprises a scale 40, a position sensor capable of being displaced relatively to the scale 40, and a watertight housing 50, 55 defining an internal volume comprising the display, the electronic reading circuit and a power source. Additional functional layers, for example an over-molded elastic thermoplastic layer and a metallic plate, protect the instrument 30 and add to it specific tactile and visual characteristics. |
