PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member excellent in characteristics such as wear resistance, impact resistance and peeling resistance, and a method for producing the sliding member.SOLUTION: A first α alumina layer 2 in which an interatomic distance of α alumina is relatively small as compared with that of α alumina in a second α alumina layer, the second α alumina layer 3 in which an interatomic distance of α alumina is relatively large as compared with that of α alumina in the first α alumina layer, and a γ alumina layer 4 are formed in order from the surface of a sliding member 5 comprising a silicon-containing aluminum alloy as a base material 1 toward the inside of the base material. |
