PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeder easy to insert an ophthalmic lens, and excellent in controllability.SOLUTION: An actuator includes a barrel 16 and a plunger 22 stored within the barrel. A clutch mechanism 54 is movable between the plunger and the barrel. The clutch mechanism includes a driven member 60 and a fixed member 62 respectively having projecting stripes 86, 88. The driven member includes pins 80 engaging with a three start screw 38 on the plunger. The projecting stripes 86, 88 are biased into an engagement state by three annular springs 70. In an engagement state of the clutch, the plunger is advanced by rotation relative to the barrel. An axial load on the plunger disengages the clutch mechanism, and the plunger axially advances while the driven member 60 rotates. Accordingly, two-handed work or one-handed work becomes possible according to a user's choice. The actuator is used in combination with a lens feeder. |
