503,214. Filtering gases. COMPAGNIE AGRICOLE ET INDUSTRIELLE CONCO (SOC. CONGOLAISE). June 29, 1937, Nos. 18096 and 18097. Void. Convention dates, June 29, 1936 and June 23, 1937. [Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Groups I and XXX] Dust and papers removed by hoods and airsuction during sorting and screening operations on household refuse are conducted to a separating device. The separator, Fig. 8, consists of a number of laterally disposed chambers 98 fed by a general passage 90. Each chamber is provided with an inclined sieve 99 which retains papers, rags, &c. drawn by the air stream which is sucked through a gate 100. By periodically closing the gate 100 and opening a gate 102 to the atmosphere, the materials clinging to the underside of the sieve 99 are detached and expelled through a damper 103. The air, still charged with fine dust which passes through the gate 100 is forced through a bag filter as shown in Fig. 11. The air enters through 108 into a casing 104 and passes through vertically disposed filtering bags 105 and then passes away through a gate 111 and collecting pipe 109. By closing the gate 111, opening a gate 112 to the atmosphere and shaking the filter bags by known mechanism, they can be periodically freed from dust which is withdrawn by a screw conveyer 113.
|
