PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a condensate water drain device capable of speedily and continuously discharging condensate water stored in an intake manifold not only when an internal combustion engine is stopped but also when the internal combustion engine is operated, without considerably reducing an intake pressure during the operation of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: An upper end of a drain pipe 42 is connected to an outer wall of an engine body 25 via a pipe joint 51 communicated with an intake manifold 27. The drain pipe is laid perpendicularly downward, and a discharge port 55 in the lower end thereof is inserted into a case 44 of a drain device 40. Inside the case 44, a flap valve 48 is provided which turns between a posture of closing the discharge port 55 and a posture of opening the discharge port, and the flap valve is energized to a closing posture side with a tensile force F by a coil spring 46. When a pressure P2 greater than the tensile force F is applied to the flap valve, the flap valve is opened, condensate water is discharged, and the flap valve is then returned to the closing posture. |
