PURPOSE: A whitening composition containing 6-hydroxy-2,5,7,8-tetramethylchroman-2-carboxylic acid (Trolox) is provided to suppress the activity of tyrosinase and melanogenesis, thereby showing superior whitening effect. CONSTITUTION: A whitening composition contains 0.000025-0.025 wt% of Trolox of chemical formula 1, a derivative thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The active ingredient suppresses the activity of tyrosinase and dopaoxidase and generation of 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA). |
