PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the joint strength of a reinforcing member at the surround of a door holding mechanism, and to increase rigidity at the surround of the door holding mechanism.SOLUTION: A surrounding structure of a door holding mechanism includes: an outer panel which forms a pillar together with an inner panel; a slide door which is opened and closed by sliding back and forth at a rear side with respect to the pillar; and a door holding mechanism which holds a rear end portion of the slide door while a door is closed. A pillar formation area of the outer panel is formed in such a manner that the cross section thereof is crank-shaped substantially, and the door holding mechanism is mounted to a front face of an intermediate part of the pillar formation area disposed along a vehicle width direction. Between the outer panel and the inner panel, a pillar reinforce is disposed. The pillar reinforce includes a front portion overlapping the back of the intermediate part of the pillar formation area and a rear portion extending backward from an outer end of the front portion in the vehicle width direction, and the middle of the rear portion is crank-shaped substantially. The pillar formation area and the pillar reinforce forms a closed cross section, and a rear end of the pillar reinforce is joined to the outer panel. |
