PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact thermal fuse without fusing a fuse element in manufacturing while firmly welding an insulator film.SOLUTION: A thermal fuse includes an upper film 1a, a lower film 1b, and a bending part 1c. The upper film 1a and the lower film 1b are openable/closable with the bending part 1c as an axis, are opened in an unloaded state, and have a nearly rectangular shape in a plane view in a closed state. A method for manufacturing a thermal fuse includes: a first welding process for welding the upper film 1a and the lower film 1b along at least three sides other than the bending part 1c in a nearly rectangular shape in a plane view where the upper film 1a and the lower film 1b in an insulator film 1 having a space 5 for storing a fuse element 3 in the closed state are closed; and a second welding process for welding the insulator film 1 to a side opposing to the bending part 1c in the nearly rectangular shape in a plane view by radiating a laser beam. |
