[Class 20 (i)] [Also in Group XI] In a street lamp, the post or standard is of reinforced concrete and has part or the whole thereof made integral with a reinforced concrete housing 5 for the light source 8 and a reflector 6. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the housing 5 is formed integral with the upper part 3 of the posts, this part constituting a spigot adapted to fit within the base 1 of the post and to be secured therein by a peg passed through holes 4. Fig. 3 shows a construction in which a housing 9 is made integral with a bracket 11 and post 12. The reflector 6 may be constituted by a metal or enamel coating sprayed on to the underside of the housing, or, as shown in Fig. 1, a separate metal reflector may bo detachably secured in position by, clips 7. The post may carry auxiliary lighting fittings 18, Fig. 5, which may be so controlled as to come into operation when the main source is extinguished.</p> |
