The invention relates to a strigolactone analogue compound of general formula (I): wherein X represents an oxygen atom or a sulphur atom, R1 and R2, identical or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon radical, in C1-C10, R1 and R2 not both representing a hydrogen atom, and R3 represents a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon radical, in C1-C10. This compound can be used for the treatment of higher plants for controlling their growth and architecture.
