The device has two inverters (Var1, Var2) connected in parallel with a continuous power bus. An inverter module (Inv1) of one of the inverters is used as an active rectifier system. Another inverter module (Inv2) is connected in parallel to a bus capacitor (Cbus1) and provided with multiple switching arms. The switching arms are equipped with output phases (U2, V2, W2) of two transistors to connect the inverter module to electric load (C). A selection unit (2) is arranged to connect an electrical supply source (1) with an input phase or an output phase of the inverter.
