The system has a meter module (1) to calculate a fare based on mileage and rate, and a reading module (2) to access data stored in an electronic health insurance card (3). A gateway server (9) in communication with the system extracts data relating to the rights of a policy-holder stored in a database of a public server (11). The reading module sends identification parameters to the gateway server, sends the data relative to the rights of the policy-holder to a display module (5), and publishes an invoice by taking the fare and the data relative to the rights of the policy-holder into account. An independent claim is also included for a method for identification of the rights of a policy-holder on-board an authorized medical transport vehicle.
