A method of repair of bearing assembly of wheels of a large vehicles under field conditions comprises removal of a wheel and a bearing, machining surfaces connected to the bearing in the wheel and on the shaft, preparing repair sleeves, which compensate for wear, installation of sleeves with an interference fit on an appropriate surface, which is connected to the bearing. Preliminarily the wheel and bearing are removed leaving the shaft assembly in the vehicle, wherein tensioning of the repair sleeve on the shaft is carried out under field conditions, the sleeve is cooled before tensioning. Machining the wheel surface connected to the bearing and tensioning repair sleeve on said surface is carried out in a production shop. The sleeves mounted with an interference fit are welded from the ends by a circular seam. The bearing, which is dismantled, is replaced by a new standard bearing with setting the parameters of repair sleeves to compensate for wear. The installation on the shaft of the prepared wheel set with the bearing and repair sleeves is carried out in the field. |
