[Class 142 (i)] The healds are suspended by cords &c. 16 from height regulating screws 14 on carrier rods 4 guided laterally by rollers 3. The rods are operated by flexible pulling means such as chains 5 passing over pulleys 6, 7 and attached to a rod 10 connected to mechanism operated by the dobby. The spring motion 11 and pulleys 6, 7 are supported by pedestals 8. The rods 4 may be operated by crank levers and thrust rods or each may be formed as a rack engaging a geared segment. |
