摘要 <p>The brake has an actuating element formed as a gear box for converting a rotational motion of a rotation direction-reversible electric motor into a translational movement. A shifting device (33) is provided in different switching positions by flow of power from a gear motor drive such that mechanical efficiency of the motor drive is not interfered by the shifting device in a released state of the brake. The shifting device inhibits the mechanical efficiency of the motor drive when predefined brake application force is exceeded in a tensioned state of the brake. The shifting device is formed as a mechanically movable shifting device, an automated self-actuated shifting device, an electroless shifting device and a force-dependant shifting device. An independent claim is also included for an operation method for an electromechanically actuatable brake for a motor car.</p>
