PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing, capable of easily holding a fishing rod and a reel body by one hand, as well as skillfully operating an operation member for adjusting the output of a motor by the thumb of the hand, and having sufficient holdability during operating the operation member and even when a big load is suddenly applied.SOLUTION: An electric reel for fishing includes a spool around which a fishline is wound, a drive motor installed to a reel body 5 and rotatively driving the spool, an operation member 30 for adjusting the output of the drive motor, and a control case 15 in which a control unit for controlling the drive motor is housed. The operation member 30 is supported by a spindle to be almost parallel to the spool shaft of the spool on the upper part of one of right and left side plates on the rear side of the control case 15, as well as is formed to be into almost a cylindrical shape having a 10-24 mm diameter and 2-20 mm length in the shaft direction, and an arc region of the outer surface thereof is exposed from the surrounding surface as an operation unit. |
