PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an excessive load from being applied to a part where a massager is attached.SOLUTION: A massager 10 includes: a plurality of long actuators each of which bulges and shrinks in accordance with a drive signal and acts to a part of a human body, a first detecting section 34, a first determining section 52, and a drive control section 56. The first detecting section 34 detects a tensile stress of at least one actuator of the plurality of actuators. The first determining section 52 determines whether the first detecting section 34 operates normally. The drive control section 56 causes the first determining section 52 to perform determination before transmitting a drive signal to the actuator. The drive control section 56 performs control in such a way that when the first determining section 52 determines that the first detecting section 34 does not operate normally, the drive signal is not transmitted to the actuator, and when the first determining section 52 determines that the first detecting section 34 operates normally, the drive signal is transmitted to the actuator. |
