In addition to providing a sensor for detecting that evaporation of a liquid refrigerant is complete, a need exists to provide a sensor for detecting the condensation temperature or the evaporation temperature during cooling and heating operation. The air conditioner of the present invention comprises an indoor heat exchanger having an auxiliary heat exchanger (20) and a main heat exchanger (21) that is arranged on the downstream side of the auxiliary heat exchanger (20). During operation in a predetermined dehumidifying operation mode, all of the liquid refrigerant supplied to the auxiliary heat exchanger (20) evaporates partway through the auxiliary heat exchanger (20). As a result, only a portion of the upstream side of the auxiliary heat exchanger (20) is an evaporation region, and the area on the downstream side of the evaporation region for the auxiliary heat exchanger (20) is a superheating region. In addition, an indoor heat exchange temperature sensor (32) is provided near the intermediate section of the indoor heat exchanger, said section being on the downstream side of the superheating region of the auxiliary heat exchanger (20). |
