PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon carbide sintered body having a high bulk density and improved corrosion resistance, and to provide a method for manufacturing the silicon carbide sintered body.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a silicon carbide sintered body has a mixing step S20 for mixing silicon carbide powder with a nonmetallic sintering aid, and a pressure sintering step S50 for pressure sintering a mixture of the mixing silicon carbide powder and the nonmetallic sintering aid under a non-oxidizing atmosphere, wherein the nonmetallic sintering aid includes a silicon-modified phenol resin. |
