PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous motor 11 that realizes high output density by reducing iron loss occurring in a stator iron core 13.SOLUTION: In a segment pole forming a magnetic pole of a rotor 5, a concave portion depressed in the opposite direction of a stator 6 is formed in the center in a circumferential direction of outer diameter face opposing to the stator 6. The stator 6 with an air gap, arranged in the outside in a radial direction of the rotor 5, is set so that the axial length Ls of a stator iron core 13 is shorter than the axial length Lr of a rotor iron core 8. According to the above configuration, formation of the concave portion on an axis d of the segment pole allows magnetic resistance of the magnetic path of the axis d to increase, which decreases inductance Ld of the axis d so as to increase reluctance torque caused by difference between Ld and inductance Lq of an axis q. The design that the laminate thickness of the stator iron core 13 is smaller than the laminate thickness of the rotor iron core 8 enables prevention of occurrence of a useless leakage flux that does not contribute to output and reduction of iron loss occurring in the stator iron core 13, thereby improving output density. |
