The objective of the present invention is to detect errors accurately in a supercharging pressure sensor in an internal combustion engine equipped with a supercharger for which the supercharging pressure can be changed by the operation of an actuator. To achieve this objective, a control device according to the present invention operates an actuator (38) such that the supercharging pressure (Picm) measured by a supercharging pressure sensor (44) reaches a target supercharging pressure (Pict), and obtains a measured value (mafm) for the flow volume of air flowing in an intake passage (10), and calculates an estimated supercharging pressure (Pice) on the basis of the measured air flow volume (mafm). In addition, the control device according to the present invention sets a first error flag (FLG1) when a first simultaneous inequality, which evaluates the magnitude relationships between the measured supercharging pressure (Picm), the target supercharging pressure (Pict), and the estimated supercharging pressure (Pice), and which is not satisfied when the supercharging pressure sensor (44) is normal, is satisfied.
