A lifting device for elevating a mining vehicle such as an excavator or dozer above a surface. The lifting device including a wheel mounted frame movable along the surface, a lifting means coupled to the frame. The lifting means including several hydraulic jacks configured to interact with and elevate the vehicle, and the wheel mounted frame is positionable substantially beneath the vehicle such that operating the lifting means elevates at least part of the vehicle above the surface.
