PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealant for a liquid crystal drop method which has excellent storage stability and hardly causes liquid crystal contamination, and provide a vertical conduction material and a liquid crystal display element which are manufactured with the sealant.SOLUTION: A sealant for a liquid crystal drop method includes a hardening resin and a thermosetting agent. The thermosetting agent is solid in an ambient temperature. An active group on a surface of the thermosetting agent is protected by a photoactive protecting group.
