PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture recording reproduction device which does not irradiate a face of a person and a main subject in a close range with AF auxiliary light in recording a moving picture including a scene in a period of waiting for still picture imaging or a scene in a period of preparing still picture imaging.SOLUTION: A picture recording reproduction device converts an optical image formed by an optical system for forming a subject image to an electric signal, detects a face of a person from imaged pictures and generates a display picture and a recording moving picture by serially reading out the imaged pictures. The picture recording reproduction device comprises means for irradiating a subject with auxiliary light depending on a situation of the subject in performing focus adjustment that is performed prior to still picture generation when a recording still picture is generated/recorded from the imaged pictures on the basis of an imaging instruction during recording of the recording moving picture, where the means irradiates a subject with the auxiliary light when the subject is not in a close range and does not include a face. |
