The invention relates to engine construction and can be used in gas piston engines with spark ignition. The essence of the invention consists in that a gas-air mix passes from a combustion chamber into an ignition chamber during the compression process. Furthermore, the residual gases are maintained in the ignition chamber at a temperature of 500-700°C, thereby inducing, with the aid of these residual gases, as they come into contact and mix with the fuel-air mix, the start of reactions for the combined conversion of lower alkanes contained in hydrocarbon fuels to give hydrogen and carbon monoxide. Furthermore, the intensification of the reactions for combined conversion during the compression process is ensured by virtue of the increased pressure and temperature of the gas-air mix of 5-5.5 MPa and 500-600°C, respectively, in the ignition and combustion chambers at the time of spark formation. |
