A cloud server data backup method, a cloud server, a terminal data backup method, and a terminal. The cloud server data backup method comprises: receiving data to be backed up and configuration information of the data sent by a first client; and storing the data according to the configuration information. By adopting the above solution, when a user uses a backup service, the user can, according to needs of the user, make a choice regarding whether to edit personal data of the user at a network side, and system parameters are configured according to choice of the user.
