<p>The present invention consists of a device for sustained administration of thalidomide, which is incorporated into a monolithic system comprising a matrix based on a biodegradable polymer of the polyester category. The device preferably has the form of an implant and this pharmaceutical drug is preferably administered intraocularly. The device can be used for treating eye diseases causing neovascularization, the most common of which are diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.</p> |
