The method involves recognizing whether a temperature sensor (13) produces a temperature signal lowered to a temperature threshold level. Recognition is made whether an internal combustion engine of a motor car is switched off for a time period that exceeds a time threshold level based on transition of container contents (15, 16) from a partly fixed aggregation state to a liquid aggregation state. Recognition is made whether the sensor produces the signal that exceeds another temperature threshold level when starting the engine or a numerator exceeds another time threshold level. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising instructions for executing a method for recognizing an aggregation state of contents of a container in a motor car (2) a computer program product comprising instructions for executing a method for recognizing an aggregation state of contents of a container in a motor car.
