PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently support mobility of a mobile terminal in a visible light communication system.SOLUTION: Proposed is a method and apparatus for supporting mobility of a mobile terminal in a visible light communication (VLC) system. The method includes activating only necessary light sources for the VLC considering the mobility of the mobile terminal, instead of using the total number of light sources for the visible light communication. Consequently, power consumption can be significantly reduced.
