An electric motor equipped with: a stator (4); a rotor (5) that rotates together with a rotary shaft (14) in response to a rotating magnetic field generated by a coil (6) wound on the teeth parts (4a) of the stator (4); a terminal block (7) arranged on the coil (6) of the stator (4) with a gap therebetween, with three lead wires connected to the terminal block; and a protective tube (16) in which the three lead wires are inserted. The protective tube (16) is affixed to a tube-fastening part (20) of the terminal block (7) with a binding band (17).
