Disclosed are a method for site monitoring through a network and a management server used therefor. The method of the present invention can be implemented through the steps of: enabling a management server to receive, from a camera installed in a site, a site image and a site sound taken by the camera when the camera senses the direction of a generated sound source; enabling the management server to store the site image and the site sound; and enabling the management server to transmit the site image and the site sound to a monitoring terminal. According to the present invention, effective anti-crime management can be carried out in a wide area for crime prevention through a single camera that senses the direction of a sound source. Furthermore, the present invention can provide remote site support in case of an emergency situation at the site.
