PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED lighting device capable of performing lighting at two kinds of alternating-current voltages with different effective values.SOLUTION: The LED lighting device is supplied with a first alternating-current voltage or a second alternating-current voltage from a lighting control section for outputting the first alternating-current voltage when a light amount of peripheral light is not less than a predefined reference light amount, and outputting the second alternating-current voltage whose effective value is lower than that of the first alternating-current voltage when the light amount is lower than the reference light amount. The LED lighting device comprises: a rectifier element for rectifying the first alternating-current voltage or the second alternating-current voltage and outputting a rectified voltage from between a first terminal and a second terminal; a first LED element connected to the first terminal on one end; a second LED element connected to the other end of the first LED element on one end; a current control section connected between the other end of the second LED element and the second terminal; and a short-circuit control section for short-circuiting both ends of the first LED element or the second LED element when the rectified voltage is smaller than a predefined short-circuit voltage.
