PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharging device having a plurality of discharge element substrates using inks having different usable temperature ranges, the liquid discharging device being capable of performing appropriate temperature-increase suppressing control and maintaining good printing quality while suppressing printing throughput reduction.SOLUTION: A liquid discharging device has first and second discharge element substrates disposed on a supporting member. Based on temperatures T1 and T2 of the first and second discharge element substrates, a temperature T1a at a position of the first discharge element substrate close to the second discharge element substrate is estimated. If either of the temperatures T1 and T1a is equal to or higher than a threshold temperature Tth1, the device performs temperature-increase suppressing control before a recording operation is performed using the first discharge element substrate. If the temperature T2 is equal to or higher than a threshold temperature Tth2, the device performs temperature-increase suppressing control before a recording operation is performed using the second discharge element substrate. |
