PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure a position of a workpiece without damaging the workpiece.SOLUTION: A method of measuring a position of a workpiece includes: a step for measuring a tip position Z1 of a touch probe Ta when a spindle 42 is moved from a standby position to a workpiece W without rotating the spindle 42 and an electrical resistance is measured by a resistance measuring instrument 66 in a state that the touch probe Ta is installed at a tip of the spindle 42 and the resistance measuring instrument 66 is electrically connected to the spindle 42 and the workpiece W; a step for measuring a tip position Z2 of the touch probe Ta in a state that the spindle 42 is positioned at the standby position; a step for measuring a moving distance L2 of the spindle 42 by moving the spindle 42 from the standby position in a state that the spindle 42 is being rotated till a tip of a tool T reaches the tip position Z2 after installing the tool T at the tip of the spindle 42, replacing the touch probe Ta; and a step for computing a moving distance L of the spindle 42 by adding a difference L1 between the tip positions Z1 and Z2 to the moving distance L2. |
