PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving an electro-optic display, especially, a bi-stable electro-optic display, and provide a device to be used in such a method.SOLUTION: A waveform for driving an electro-optic display, especially, a bi-stable electro-optic display is deformed by inserting at least one balanced pulse pair into a base waveform, deleting at least one balanced pulse pair from the base waveform, and inserting at least one period of a zero voltage into the base waveform. Such deformation makes it possible to finely control a gray level. The two pulses of the balanced pulse pair are reverse in polarity, and equal in length although each pulse is a constant voltage. |
