PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical property measurement device and mechanical property measurement method, which allow a minute amount of high-temperature melt sample to be accurately and simply measured in a short time.SOLUTION: A mechanical property measurement device includes a hot thermocouple capable of heating and holding a melt at the leading end of the thermocouple and measuring the temperature of the melt at the same time, an electrode which is arranged in no contact with the melt surface so as to apply voltage to the melt, a laser oscillator which oscillates laser beams to be irradiated between the electrode and the melt, and a laser beam detector which detects laser beams irradiated between the electrode and the melt. A mechanical property measurement method includes holding a melt at a thermocouple capable of heating and holding a melt at the leading end of the thermocouple and measuring the temperature of the melt at the same time, directing laser beams from a laser beam oscillator onto the part of the melt deformed by the voltage application to the melt from an electrode which is arranged in no contact with the melt surface, and detecting the laser beams with a laser beam detector. |
