The method involves metrologically checking a danger area under a trolley i.e. moving element, of a crane installation by a sensor device that is attached to the crane installation, at presence of an endangered object labeled with a mark, which is detectable by the sensor device. An intervention into control of the crane installation is carried-out with the detected presence of the endangered object to reduce risks. The mark is affixed at a garment i.e. jacket, of a person or a helmet, and formed by a transceiver such as radio-frequency identification (RFID) chip/a transponder. An independent claim is also included for a device for performing a method for protecting endangered objects in a movement region of a crane installation.
