The chain (1) has chain side bars (2) coupled by connection pins (3). The chain side bars comprise a pair of teeth (4) and side bar spines (5) arranged opposite to the teeth. The side bar spines comprise a structure (6) introduced into the side bar spines of the chain by non-cutting. The side bar spines are suitable for guiding on a sliding surface of a rail. A part of a lubricant and/or an oil film are adhered in the structure of the side bar spines based on a lubricated chain drive. The structure is formed and dimensioned as macro or microstructure depending upon side bar spine width.
