PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method, a mobile communication system, and a mobile terminal capable of efficiently realizing low power consumption of the mobile terminal.SOLUTION: The communication method for performing radio communication between a mobile terminal and a base station using an intermittent reception operation of repeating a fixed on period for receiving by the mobile terminal a signal sent from the base station and a fixed off period of not receiving the signal is configured to receive by the mobile terminal a downward physical control signal sent from the base station, in the on period using the intermittent reception operation.
