PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simulated sound generating device which can generate appropriate simulated sound.SOLUTION: A simulated sound generating device 1 includes: gear stage determination means 2a that determines a gear stage, from driving force occurring in an axle of a driving wheel of a vehicle and a vehicle speed, on the basis of transmission characteristics; rotational speed calculation means 2b that calculates a rotational speed of an internal combustion engine from the vehicle speed and gear stage; selection means 2c for selecting a timbre map corresponding to the driving force; and generation means 3 for generating simulated sound from the timbre map and the rotational speed.
