PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigeration cycle apparatus that can make the heat exchange amount of an internal heat exchanger higher than before while holding high operation efficiency and operation capability.SOLUTION: A refrigeration cycle apparatus includes a double pipe type internal heat exchanger comprising an inner pipe 32 in which a refrigerant circulating in a refrigeration cycle flows from an evaporator exit to a compressor entrance and an outer pipe 31 in which the refrigerator flows from a compressor exit to an evaporator entrance. A bypass passage B1 for bypassing part of a liquid-phase refrigerant of high temperature and high pressure flowing in an outside space S1 between the outer pipe 31 and inner pipe 32 to an inner space S2 in the inner pipe 32 is formed between pipe walls overlapping a gas-phase refrigerant inflow pipe 8 in the axial direction of the inner pipe 32 while a small-diameter portion 8A of an end of the gas-phase refrigerant inflow pipe 8 is inserted into an end inside of the inner pipe 32.
