PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high durability joints between ceramic articles, particularly between beta-silicon carbide (&bgr;-SiC) articles, and methods of making and using the same.SOLUTION: A joint 100 between a first article 101 and a second article 102 each comprising a ceramic polymorph comprises a matrix 103 comprising the ceramic polymorph and extending between the first article and the second article; a plurality of inclusions 104 comprising the ceramic polymorph and being distributed throughout the matrix; and a sealing layer 105 comprising the ceramic polymorph and being respectively disposed on the first article, the second article, and the matrix. |
