PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and apparatus for broadcasting content.SOLUTION: In encoding the content to be multicast/broadcast into multiple streams, at least one stream provides a base portion of the content, and additional streams provide enhancements to the content. A wireless communication device receives the broadcast and decodes streams in accordance with the reception capabilities of the wireless device. The configuration of the wireless device can be determined based on the wireless device's capability to decode multiple streams. In addition, the configuration of the wireless device can be determined based on a subscriber level of the wireless device. |
