PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar light emitting device which has beautiful appearance and satisfactory display characteristics.SOLUTION: A planar light emitting device 10 includes a light source 11, a sheet-like light guide 12 which light from the light source 11 is introduced into from an edge of and is guided in a surface direction in, and a light-transmissive substrate 15 provided on the side opposite to a light emitting surface of the light guide 12. A light extraction part 13 for scattering the light to emit it toward the light emitting surface is formed in the light guide 12 and the light extraction part 13 includes light-transmissive light scattering particles. |
