PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a giant magnetostriction exciter which prevents the occurrence of noise etc. even when a giant magnetostrictor expands and contracts, uses a small number of components, and has a simple structure.SOLUTION: An excitation part composed of giant magnetostrictors 17a, 17b and magnets 16a to 16c, a bobbin 13 around which a coil 14 for generating a magnetic field is wound, and a discoid yoke 12, in which its outer peripheral surface faces an inner surface of a side wall part of a housing 10 forming a predetermined space therebetween, are incorporated in a housing space of the housing 10. When a lid 11 is screwed to an upper part of the housing 10, the yoke 12 is biased downward by a spring for preload 11b of the lid 11 and the magnetostrictors 17a, 17b are preload in a compression direction. |
