The anchor has a cylindrical anchor body (1) inserted into an opening or hole in masonry e.g. brick. A profile is provided in an outer mantle (2) of the anchor body with intermediate chambers for receiving composite adhesives or composite mortar between an anchor-mantle surface and a hole cladding. Axial filling channels (9, 10) are inserted in the masonry under pressure of the composite mortar and guided from a front end side (8) of an anchor to a last profile elevation of an outer profile i.e. groove (3). The filling channels are diagonally arranged opposite to the outer mantle. The cylindrical anchor body is made of plastic or fiber reinforced material, a base material that is selected from plastic or concrete, fiber from glasses, charcoal, plastic or steel, and a glass-fiber reinforced plastic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for inserting an anchor into masonry.
